Rainbow Stripe Flutter Sleeve Top

It has been a hectic and busy summer. Last Friday I got a chance to take some pictures of the casual outfit I wore to work. My friend told me that she is jealous that my company allows a casual Friday dress code. Was I so grateful too!

I wore a Drew cotton top with Levi’s jeans and carried a Michael Kors cream colored purse.

Last night it rained so the ground was all wet when we got up. My youngest daughter picked out this sleeveless dress in geometric pattern from Talbot. I decided to grab an extra layer of cropped stripe cardigan to keep me warm in air conditioned office. My third daughter picked out my high heels in navy. This is definitely team work at its best!;)

I came across our company’s dress code today and made a mental note that I shouldn’t wear straps that are narrower than three fingers wide and clothing that has rips. Also no see through or shorter than knee length skirt. 😉

I am inspired by the refreshing cool morning air, so decided to wear the white wide leg pants from Ann Taylor. I love the belt that comes with it so I can tie it into a side bow. I wore a light blue chiffon top with cascading ruffles and neck ribbons for tying bow as well. To keep myself cozy in the morning I wear a cotton knit cropped cardigan from Talbot. I wore a pair of light brown cage sandals to complete the outfit. I find myself reaching to the cream Michael Kors purse quite frequently nowadays. So I love its dainty size  and light color, it goes with so many spring/summer outfits.

Casual Buttonfront Jean Skirt

One day I woke up feeling that I have nothing in my closet that I wanted to wear. Boy doesn’t that feeling sound familiar? Then I started brainstorming what exactly I would like to wear at the moment – something comfortable, allowing me to move free, not tight on body, yet keeping me warm and covered, looking pretty in its own quiet way – I think maybe a long casual skirt would do. Then when I went shopping I stopped at Madewell hoping to find something. I was lucky to stumble upon a size 00 button front jean skirt that fits the bill perfectly! I also saw this poppy colored cotton textured top on the hanger, I fell in love with it immediately. It has a unique nubby texture, pretty neckline, cute front tie, in a cheerful color. So I didn’t hesitate to get both items, they are perfect together and will work well with so many existing pieces in my wardrobe on their own. My third daughter helped me pick out the pale pink patent leather wedge sandals to go with the outfit, again I was impressed! Also my second daughter did my hair by twisting some sections of hair on top and securing with bobby-pins, she said the section looks like a heart from the back, so sweet…
